Michael, a 65-year old man with cancer, called the Medicare Rights Center because he couldn’t afford his medications. Michael had received a notice saying he had lost his Extra Help, a benefit that helps people with low incomes pay for their Medicare drug coverage and prescriptions. Fortunately, Michael’s Medicare Rights counselor was able to get his benefit restored so he could continue with his cancer treatments.
